INSURANCE
Before you choose any Heavy Equipment Transport company you should be made fully aware of
their insurance that protects your cargo during the transport process. ETS can offer you
peace of mind while your cargo is in transit by having it insured by the carrier, Every
transport operator holds a valid and up to date policy and a cargo policy. This insurance
policy is required and is mandatory by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration.
All ETS drivers are fully insured and to make this process easy as possible we provide
the following insurance information. Here are some helpful hints you may need to know
when it comes to coverage for your Heavy Equipment or cargo.
The cargo insurance policy in effect during transportation covers
damage to your cargo; this includes any damage from the transportation of all products or
Equipment hauled by ETS. It also covers neglect in loading, unloading and transportation
of the load by the driver. Any resulting damage would be addressed to the cargo policy in
effect by the carrier.
All drivers carry a minimum of 100,000.00 to 5,000,000.00 depending on the value of your
cargo. You may be named directly on any insurance policy, there may be a minimal charge
depending on the insurance agency.
The driver inspects the cargo / Equipment for any pre-existing
damage before loading you're more than welcome to make a list of anything you are aware of
or even take a couple of pictures of something in particular .
Before your Equipment is loaded we ask all drivers to take digital
photo’s of the Equipment for insurance purposes ,But not all drivers carry digital cameras
or picture phones
The driver will perform the same inspection process when he
delivers the laod or Equipment. The condition report (bill of lading) will provide you
with an opportunity to make note of anything that may have occurred during shipping. If
damage occurs he will do our best to rectify the situation or reimburse you for any
repairs that your equipment may need in a quick and timely matter.
